It is a great pleasure to invite you to the International Symposium on Urban Air Mobility at KAIST. In the recent years, the definition of air travel has been reinvented and is on the brink of starting a new era for extending the current ground-based transportation in the metropolitan area to AIR. Adding this third dimension to the transportation system is comparable to a “quantum leap” in the way we will travel in the urban area.
In June 2020, the Korean government announced a road map to embark a commercial service between Incheon airport and Yeoui island by 2025. However, there are various challenges related to the engineering aspects of the UAM designs and service, as well as enabling the policies to facilitate the infrastructure development. As such, we are gathering the community to share your vision and challenges.
As a leading technology hub of Korea, the department of Aerospace Engineering and the graduate school of Green Transportation of KAIST have invited government officials, industrial experts, and researchers to participate the International Symposium on Urban Air Mobility. We hope that the symposium will help to accelerate a successful launch of the commercial service, and highlight the ongoing UAM developments within and outside of Korea.
